Early May 2019, On this trip, I am travelling solo in Ibiza, which I do quite often and really enjoy. I meet so many people and have made life long friends.

So today, I wake up about 11 o’clock, (after being out the night before), the weather isn’t the best with lots of cloud, so I decide to head to the bus station with no particular plan in mind. The first bus was for Santa Eulalia, I have never been there, so thought right lets go!

The bus only took 20 minutes to get there and the driver told us where to buy tickets for our returns. I think the bus cost about 3 euros each way.

As I mentioned earlier, with lots of cloud, it was inevitable that it would rain and oh my, did it!

Hidden Ibiza Tours

Aw, this was a fabulous trip I went on in 2016, with a group of friends. To be honest, we booked it by mistake, as we thought we had booked a boat trip! (Well, we are tourists)!!

We met Dominic and his crew in a bar in the West End of San Antonio. After a drink, we were transported by minibus, to various locations near San Antonio. We began up by Cala Gracia, a amazingly beautiful place where we were jumping off cliffs and snorkeling. The Equipment was provided by the company, which was where I first got to use one of these new full face snorkel masks. (I bought mine of Ebay China for £9.99), although it was a few years ago and I believe now, they are more expensive.

From the cliffs, we headed to an old abandoned nightclub, which was a fantastic photo opportunity and so different to anything else we had seen. Dominic and his crew, were attentive, interesting, witty and a pleasure to be with.

The evening ends with a trip to the cliffs above Cala d’hort, looking out at the magical rock of Es Vedra, (Amazing View), where we sat on authentic hippie style cushions and blankets where we drank champagne and ate tapas, all the while being entertained by the crew playing guitars and singing. They also handed out instruments for us to play like castanets, triangle and a tambourine. Can you imagine the noise we made!! All that champagne and high spirits. It really was one of the best trips I had ever been on….even if it wasn’t a boat trip after all!!

I hope you all enjoy the photos below, which I hope give you an idea of what was involved and how much we enjoyed it. Thanks for reading xxx

I should point out that they don’t hand out instruments any more….I wonder why?

Ibiza Randoms – over the Years

I have been travelling to Ibiza, a few times a year, for six years now. My first time was in 1983 and I finally returned in 2014, on a hen weekend. Since that 4 day trip, I come back every year, as often as I can. Sometimes I travel solo and other times come with,or meet friends here. It seems that I have become such a regular, people think I actually work there…….I wish!

I have had so many adventures and met some amazing people, as well as some who were not so amazing!! I have walked for miles, travelled on the buses all over the Island and Formentera, hired a moped, caught water taxis everwhere, been to day clubs, night clubs, VIP events, bars, discos, restaurants and visited many of the hotels. All the while, practising my spanish language skills or rather trying to, but oh, it’s so difficult. However, I have a friend, a very old Spanish lady, who teaches me Spanish every day (unless I’m hungover, then it has to be English), but I also help them out with English language/phrases that they can use in their restaurant. She introduces me to the other Spanish folk and because I am trying to learn their language, they treat me like family. I still can’t understand half of what they’re saying though, I just nod in the right places and keep saying …. si, claro, si!!

Over the years, I have taken so many photos in Ibiza, I thought, perhaps I could use this space to post some. I have one particular group of friends who regularly join me in Ibiza, we have had so many good times together, over the years that I couldn’t do a blog without mentioning them. The memories we share are so precious, so these photos include some of them, hope you like them?

As I’m sure you’re all probably aware, this is my first attempt at blogging, so please be patient with me while I learn the ropes and any tips please do let me know.

My trip to Santa Eulalia, Ibiza, May 2019 -Did anyone find my purse?

I had a wander around in the rain and thought, ok lets hit the shops (at least I can keep dry). I had taken money out this morning before I left my hotel, hoping I might see something to buy. Unfortunately most of the shops were closed for Siesta.

Eventually I head back to the bus stop to buy my return ticket. With time to spare, I sit on a bench to eat my sandwiches, when it starts to rain, yet again. I decided to make a run to the nearest cafe and order a cuppa. I randomly took some photos whilst waiting for the waiter. When I went to pay the bill, I realised I had lost my purse, with 100 euros in it!! I ran back to the bench….but it was gone. Gutted, miserable, cold and depressed!!

So later on in the evening I decide to go out and drown my sorrows, (luckily I had bought my bus tickets earlier, otherwise I would have been stranded in Santa Eulalia.

Anyway, later, when I looked at the photos on my phone, zooming in, I can see my purse on the bench!! Zoom in and have a look at the far bench below.

I think if I had been robbed, I would have felt better, but it was my own stupid fault!! Still, it could have been worse, it could have been my phone!!

Santa Eulalia, in the sunshine, must look amazing, its a lovely resort with a beautiful beach and promenade. I passed some lovely narrow streets full of cafes and restaurants. There was also a little market selling crafts. There are also a few designer shops, but be aware of siestas. I found the prices reasonable especially compared to San Antonio.

So suffice to say, I didn’t really enjoy myself this time in Santa Eulalia, however I will go back in August when its a lot warmer and of course I will keep an eye on my purse this time.
